Our Place Wonder Oven Pro Review: A First Look at the 8-in-1 Upgrade

In this Our Place Wonder Oven Pro review, we dive deep into your burning questions: Can it really replace my air fryer, toaster oven, dehydrator, and more? Is the upgrade worth the investment? Let’s dig in.

Our Place, the brand behind the internet famous Always Pan (now 2.0) and the ridiculously cute Wonder Oven, has just released their upgraded Wonder Oven Pro. It promises to be a space-saving, ultra-versatile, non-toxic cooking appliance that can replace your toaster oven, microwave, air fryer, dehydrator, and more with a souped up version of the original.

But can it deliver the same results you’re used to getting from dedicated single-function devices? Check out this Our Place Wonder Oven Pro review to find out.

What Is the Wonder Oven Pro?

The Pro builds on Our Place’s earlier Wonder Oven models with some genuinely meaningful upgrades. It comes with eight capabilities to expand on the original six. The two new modes are Dehydrate (picture the chic dehydrated citrus you can make for homemade cocktails or mocktails) and Proof mode, so you can predictably proof your dough for your next homemade focaccia bread-making session.

The Our Place Wonder Oven Pro also offers a step up from the original’s analog controls with its intuitive digital control panel for precise timing and temperature settings that make your at-home roasting, toasting, air frying, baking, broiling, dehydrating, proof, and reheating sessions more efficient (and it has steam infusion too). Plus, it does it all without toxic PFAS chemicals (you know, those bad-for-you nonstick coatings found in most of today’s air fryers, nonstick cookware, and rice cookers).

What’s New About the Wonder Oven Pro: Key Features and Specifications

The Our Place Wonder Oven Pro isn’t just a rebranded version of the standard Wonder Oven. These upgrades address specific pain points to take this appliance to the next level.

“I love the minimalist and intuitive design of the new control panel. It’s easy to use without having to read a manual, and doesn’t feel over engineered, a big plus.”

Laura Klein – Founder, Organic Authority (+ trained chef)

Enhanced Heating Technology

One of the biggest upgrades is the move to quartz and stainless steel heating elements. While most toaster ovens still use basic coils, quartz elements respond faster and distribute heat more consistently. This translates to shorter preheat times and more even browning. According to their website, it preheats up to 60% faster and cooks up to 40% faster.

Expanded Functionality and Size

The Pro bumps up the standard Wonder Oven’s 6-in-1 capability to 8-in-1, adding Proof and Dehydrate modes with a 30 L capacity (you can roast a whole chicken in it and cook a 12″ pizza). The larger capacity also translates into three rack positions (the Original Wonder Oven has two).

The Proof function provides controlled low temperatures to unlock predictable proofing times for you as a baker. It’s ideal for encouraging your bread dough to rise properly — finally, a better option than the “leave it on top of the fridge and cross your fingers” method.

The Dehydrate mode is something you wouldn’t know you need until you have it. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll be wanting to dehydrate everything — jerky, fruit leather, and potato or vegetable chips all become part of your daily repertoire without requiring another single-purpose appliance.

Digital Controls

The analog controls from the original Wonder Oven are replaced with a sleek digital interface that allows for precise temperature and timing settings. I love the minimalist and intuitive design of the new control panel. It’s easy to use without having to read a manual, and doesn’t feel over engineered, a big plus.

The bright interior light (with both auto and manual options) means you can monitor cooking progress without opening the door and killing your oven temperature.

Convection Intelligence for Bake Mode

Here’s where the Pro shows real cooking intelligence: the convection fan automatically turns off in Bake mode. Most combo ovens just blast everything with hot air, but delicate bakes like cookies and cakes need gentle, even heat. This fan-off logic prevents baked goods from coming out with dry exteriors and raw centers. This is a big deal, and it made a noticeable difference in my tests!

Smarter Pan Design

The deeper ceramic-coated nonstick bake pan is engineered specifically to contain the splatter chaos that happens during roasts and air-fry sessions. Anyone who’s tried to scrape carbonized grease off heating elements knows this upgrade is worth its weight.

Of course, Our Place keeps its priorities in order with a PFAS-free ceramic coating  designed for easy cleanup without the toxic chemical concerns of traditional nonstick air fryers.

Enhanced Convenience

New stability tracks help prevent the heart-stopping moments when hot trays try to escape during loading and unloading — because there’s nothing worse than having your perfectly air-fried french fries end up on the floor.

And like the original Wonder Oven, the removable crumb tray is genius. No need to reach your hand in the oven to try and clean around the heating elements. Simply remove the crumb tray, clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush, dry, and you’re done.

Design Options That Elevate Your Aesthetic

Gone are the days where your air fryer is a kitchen eyesore you wish you could hide out of sight. The Pro comes in an array of chic finishes that elevate modern kitchens: Stainless steel, a limited-edition Pistachio colorway (created in partnership with chef Kenji López-Alt), or Cream, Char, and Blue Salt options.

Another bonus, despite its size, the Wonder Oven Pro still feels compact and doesn’t take up a whole lot of prized countertop real estate.

Optional Accessories

If you want to get the most out of your Wonder Oven Pro without having to do endless batches, or need a muffin, or pizza pa you may want to consider one of the Kit add ons.

The Extra Pro Essentials Kit comes with two large air fryer baskets and two large bake pans.

The Pro Chef’s Kit, comes with one large air fryer basket, large bake pan plus a 12-cup muffin pan, 2″ roast pan and pizza pan.

Performance as an Air Fryer Oven (+ 7 Other Modes)

Air Fry: The Crispiness Test

The Air Fry mode on the Wonder Oven Pro helped me churn out perfectly crispy wings, every time. – Credit: Laura Klein

I tested chicken wings, chicken thighs, brussels sprouts, and air-fried zucchini in the air fryer basket, and they all passed my texture test with flying colors. Surprisingly, I didn’t even have to take out the basket to rotate my food — I still got those 360° golden brown results.

My husband especially loved the crispiness of the wings and the zucchini. Brussels sprouts came out just the way we love them, with crispy leaves (which are a fave) and a tender, delicate interior.

HOT TIP: Food air-fried on the top shelf will get crispier than food air-fried on the lower shelf.

A WISH: When making larger batches of food, I found myself wishing I had a second basket so that I could easily swap food out and keep the batches rolling. Luckily, you can purchase the Wonder Oven Pro + Extra Pro Essentials Kit if you’re also craving the ability to double your kitchen output.

Bake Mode: The Fan-Off Advantage

My favorite chocolate bread recipe was faster and easier to whip up in this dream oven. – Credit: Laura Klein

If you love making smaller batches of cookies, muffins, or bread and don’t want to waste time waiting for your large oven to heat up, this is an excellent tool. The bake setting evenly distributes heat around the oven to deliver perfectly browned baked goods with a moist crumb, all without drying out the surface. I baked a gluten free chocolate bread, a batch of vegan pumpkin muffins, and some of my favorite chocolate chip cookies — they all came out with a gently browned surface and a moist, delicious center.

HOT TIP: If you’re planning to bake a bread that rises significantly, like a brioche, your regular oven may be a better choice. When I tested my brioche bread recipe, the Pro wasn’t quite tall enough. I ended up having to move it to my big oven midway through the bake, which wasn’t a big deal but is worth keeping in mind.

Roast Performance: Splatter Management

One thing I really loved about the Wonder Oven Pro was the fact that it came with baking accessories that truly enhance its performance. The deeper ceramic-coated pan is specifically engineered to contain the chaos that happens during roasting, air frying, toasting, baking, or really anything.

Any splatter from the sticky honey sauce on my air fryer wings and the maple sauce on my brussels sprouts cleaned up easily on the ceramic-coated pan with a little warm water, soap, and soft brush. Splatters that made it to the bottom of the oven were easily cleaned with the removable crumb tray.

Toast and Broil: Evenness Matters

The Broil function worked like a dream to get that gooey, melty cheese I crave on my burgers. – Credit: Laura Klein

The toast function is so simple, but so good. I love that it shows you the exact temperature — the standard temperature is 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 4 minutes. From there, you can adjust the time and temperature based upon your needs.

My day-old bread came out evenly from front to back, without any dark spots. I melted cheese on my burgers uniformly without burning, creating a soft cheesy melt.

Proof Mode: Temperature Stability

For the bread makers out there, you’re going to love the proofing functionality. I made brioche bread that needed to be proofed for about three to four hours. Usually I try to hack the process by putting my bread near my warm oven, which isn’t the most consistent of methods (normally this hack suggests the top of your fridge, but my cupboard blocks the top of mine).

Image of a proofed loaf of brioche rising in an Our Place loaf pan on a stovetop.

This time, I put it in the Wonder Oven Pro instead. It showed me the exact oven temperature of 80 degrees Fahrenheit (most proofers don’t!), and I set a timer for one hour to check it. After an hour, I tested turning up the temperature up to 90 degrees to see if that would move things along faster, and it did the trick. My dough doubled in size in three hours flat!

Dehydrate Function: Your Newest Hobby

The Wonder Oven Pro’s Dehydrate function does not get enough attention, IMHO. You can make fruit snacks, garnishes, spice mixes, and even chewy sweet potato dog treats. – Credit: Our Place

If you love those dried citrus wheels that fancy bars use to decorate your cocktail or mocktail, this function is for you. Same goes for dehydrated citrus peels, veggie chips, and all kinds of fruit leathers. I used the Wonder Oven Pro to dehydrate lemons, limes, and tangerines, and all came out beautifully and were uniform from front to back. And once you try this feature, you’ll be looking for every possible excuse to use it — think citrus wheels for parties and fruit leathers for picnics and road trips. Have fun!

Reheat Intelligence: Crisp-Back Performance

I reheated day-old wings, Brussels sprouts, and more, and they came out just as crispy as when they were air-fried fresh. No rotating required, and I love that I don’t have to wait for a big oven to heat up.

Thermal Performance: The Underlying Foundation

The success of all these modes depends on consistent thermal performance — fast preheating, accurate temperature maintenance, and quick recovery after opening the door. The quartz elements used in the Wonder Oven Pro help it outperform appliances with basic coils in all these areas.

Design and Build Quality

The Our Place Wonder Oven Pro doesn’t just look good sitting on your counter — it’s built to handle the daily grind of actual cooking without falling apart after six months or looking like a relic from 2005.

Form Meets Function

Our Place has nailed the “appliance that doesn’t need to hide in a cabinet” aesthetic. Like its predecessor, the Pro features cute, clean lines and a compact footprint.

Materials That Matter

The construction quality reflects the price point — in a good way. The quartz and stainless steel heating system and interior replaces PFAS-coated interiors, which is a big win over conventional single use air friers and kitchen appliances. And it comes with a ceramic-coated nonstick pan that fits and is easy to clean

Build Quality

The construction feels durable enough for daily use without being overbuilt or over-engineered to the point of unnecessary bulk or too many functions you never use. The door mechanism operates smoothly, and the overall fit and finish highlight that this appliance is designed to last rather than being a disposable kitchen gadget.

Thermal Management

The Pro does get warm during extended cooking sessions (this is physics, not a design flaw!), so you’ll need adequate clearance around the unit. Factor this into your counter space planning if you’re working with tight quarters.

Is the Our Place Wonder Oven Pro Worth It?

The final takeaway of this Our Place Wonder Oven Pro review comes down to two key questions: Do you actually use multiple cooking functions regularly, and are the Pro’s upgrades worth paying for? To help decide whether this is the right appliance for you, try asking yourself more specific questions from this list:

  • Are you currently using or in the market for multiple appliances for your kitchen? If you’re already thinking about buying a new air fryer, toaster oven, and dehydrator, consolidating the Wonder Oven Pro makes a lot of financial sense. One quality unit that can handle eight core tasks eliminates counter clutter and outlet competition, while also potentially saving money versus buying multiple separate appliances.
  • Are you willing to pay a slight premium to save time on preheating and cleanup? The quartz heating elements genuinely reduce preheat times, the larger capacity with three shelves allows you to cook more in less time, and the deeper splatter-catching pan cut down on scrubbing time. For daily cooks, these conveniences add up to real value.
  • Is non-toxic cooking a priority for you? Compared to other high-end countertop ovens with similar build quality, it surpasses the competition, particularly the PFAS coated models, and reasonable pricing.

Who Should Buy It

Frequent cooks who value appliance consolidation, care about avoiding PFAS chemicals, and want something that actually looks great on the counter.

  • The Sweet Spot Users: The Pro hits its stride for those who cook regularly and want appliance simplification without performance compromises. If you’re the type who air-fries vegetables and proteins for weeknight dinners, bakes cookies on weekends, and enjoys the occasional sourdough project this could be a good fit for you.
  • Aesthetic-Forward Cooks: For people who want their appliances to be permanent counter fixtures that complement their kitchen aesthetic, the Pro’s finish options and clean design are worth the higher price. If you don’t want your kitchen appliances to look like spaceships parked on your countertop, the Wonder Oven Pro is a perfect solution.
  • Non-Toxic Cooks: The PFAS-free materials used throughout the unit add big value — and that value that only multiplies as we learn more about the health risks of traditional PFAS nonstick coatings. This safety upgrade alone may justify the premium for health-conscious households.

Who Should Skip It

Budget-conscious households, people happy with their current setup, or those who don’t need a lot of cooking functions might want to take a pass.

The Pro’s value ultimately depends on whether faster heating, easier air-frying, baking, reheating, roasting, proofing, dehydrating, easier cleanup, and safer materials align with your cooking priorities and justify the premium pricing. If your countertop oven use would primarily be limited to reheating leftovers and making toast, the Pro’s premium features may not provide enough value to justify the cost.

The Verdict

The Pro succeeds because its upgrades target real cooking challenges rather than just adding features for the sake of having more bullet points on the box. If you’ll actively use all of the functionality included in the 8-in-1 kitchen appliance, value easier cleanup, and want safer materials in a design-forward package, the Pro represents a smart step up. If you’re looking for basic functionality at the lowest price, you may want to opt for the standard Wonder Oven or single-use appliances.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Wonder Oven Pro actually cook better than the older Wonder Oven models?

Yes, the Pro’s upgrades target real performance improvements. Quartz and stainless steel heating elements provide faster, more even heat than basic coils. The fan-off Bake mode prevents surface drying with raw bakes, while the deeper pan contains splatter better during roasts. Digital controls also make it easier to repeat successful results.

How big is the cooking space? Can it replace a full oven?

The Our Place Wonder Oven Pro is a 30 L countertop oven that’s ideal for 1-4 person meals, sheet pan vegetables and proteins, and small bakes (6-12 cookies). With 3 rack positions, it fits a 12″ pizza and a whole chicken. The smaller cavity means faster preheats and less energy waste for daily cooking. You’ll still need your main oven for larger projects like full sheet pans, large roasts, or tall Dutch ovens. But depending on how you typically use your oven and the type of cooking you do, the Wonder Oven Pro can easily replace a lot of oven and microwave tasks!

How accurate are the temperatures and how fast does it preheat?

The quartz elements preheat faster than traditional coils and recover heat quickly after you open the door. Digital controls improve repeatability and accuracy.

How should I clean the interior?

To clean the Our Place Wonder Oven Pro, first unplug it. Hand wash the air fry basket, wire racks, bake pan and crumb tray in warm soapy water, rinse, and let dry completely. To clean the exterior, let it cool completely, wipe it with a damp clean cloth, and dry thoroughly. The same approach is used for the interior — let it cool completely, unplug it, and use a damp soft cloth to wipe away any residue, crumbs and spills. Let the unit fully dry before plugging it back in and powering on. Use soft utensils (we recommend silicone or bamboo) on the ceramic-coated pan and avoid abrasive scrubbers and tools.

Does it require preheating?

The Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Broil, and Reheat modes do require preheating (which is standard for any oven). What I love about this functionality is that the digital display panel tells you when it’s preheating. Once preheating is complete, it alerts you and the “PREHEATING’ message will be replaced by the oven timer countdown. The Wonder Oven Pro preheats much more quickly than traditional ovens, which is an added bonus.

HOT TIP: Have your food ready to go so you can pop it in the oven as soon as the countdown starts!
