The Government of Canada launched the second stream of funding under the Oral Health Access Fund (OHAF), with the goal of improving access to oral health care in rural and underserved areas of the country.

The OHAF is a grants and contributions program led by Health Canada that was designed to complement the Canadian Dental Care Plan. The fund aims to support projects that remove barriers for accessing dental care and improve public awareness on the importance of maintaining good oral health.

The Expression of Interest in the second stream of funding is now open for organizations to submit their applications by July 31, 2024. A form is available on the OHAF webpage and successful applicants will submit a full proposal later this year.

The first stream of funding for the OHAF will focus on improving oral health training for students and dental professionals regarding treatment of targeted populations. Applications for stream 1 also close July 31, 2024.
