European Aligner Society

The European Aligner Society (EAS) has made a number of significant announcements ahead of its 5th Congress which takes place in Valencia, Spain between February 29 and March 2. The Congress has already registered over 1,000 delegates from 69 countries, its largest number to date, who have been attracted by the comprehensive three-day programme about the future of clear aligner therapy and digital dentistry, delivered by 39 speakers.  There are augmented plenary sessions, workshops, an Aligner Lab Innovation Day and Aligner Village, as well as a parallel programme for orthodontic teams. To accommodate demand for last minute places the deadline for reservations has been extended until February 22: https://www.eas-aligners.com/#program_section.

The Society has announced that it is creating a legacy for future generations and will be apportioning 30€ from every Congress registration fee to a EAS Legacy fund, so contributing to the future of the profession and prospective patients, particularly those in developing countries.

Following the success of the first 15 candidates who sat the first European Board of Aligner Orthodontics (EBAO) examination, the EAS has registered 31 clinicians for the Clinical Masters Membership of EBAO examination which takes place on 29th February 2024 at 5th Congress Valencia.

There are two pathways to achieving EABO validation in two stages:

8 clinicians have submitted the initial 2 cases for the EBAO Proficiency Award,  and

21 clinicians have submitted a further 3 cases or 5 cases for the EBAO Clinical Excellence Award.

Congress delegates have been invited to download the United Nations’ AWorld app https://aworld.org/ which was developed to encourage living in a more sustainable way in a modern world, with less paper and less plastic. It was created in support of ActNow – the United Nations campaign for individual action on climate change and sustainability. The app incentivises people to take sustainable action through everyday ‘habits’ and actions which they can log and track. It also provides them with their impact metrics, educational journeys, tips and quizzes, and engages them through the use of eye-catching visuals and solutions-oriented content.
