If you own any of the cookware products on this list, it’s time for a trip to the landfill.
The FDA has updated its August 2025 warning regarding imported cookware that may leach lead into food. Nine additional items have been added to the previous list of ten products, which have demonstrated the potential to leach significant levels of lead (Pb) into food. The list includes a range of pots, pans, kadais, and saucepans.
The list of products, most of which are produced in India or Pakistan, had previously been updated in October to add six more lead-leaching cookware brands to the original four. The full list of recalled products can be found below, along with the current status of the brands on the American marketplace.

Lead exposure is a serious matter, and you should be sure to scan this list (and your cookware collection) to see if there are any products you need to dispose of.

What Are These Products Made With?
The products in the list are made with aluminum, brass, and aluminum alloys known as Hindalium (Hindolium) or Indalium (Indolium). After being tested by FDA and state partners, the products were found to leach lead under conditions designed to mimic their use in contact with food.
The Health Risks of Consuming Lead
Lead is toxic to humans, and there is no known safe level of exposure. Even low-level lead exposure has been linked to health repercussions, including behavioral and cognition problems. Symptoms of lead poisoning at higher levels can include fatigue, headache, stomach pain, vomiting, and more. If you’ve experienced lead exposure symptoms, get in touch with your health care provider.
According to the Mayo Clinic, lead poisoning symptoms can also contribute to high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, and reproductive issues. The FDA cautions that young children, pregnant individuals, and those who are breastfeeding are at particularly high risk for health impacts.
FDA Recommendations to Those Who Own This Cookware
Many of the products identified by the FDA are no longer available thanks to cooperation with distributors, most of whom have since agreed to recall the product, cease importing it, and dispose of any remaining units.
Nevertheless, the FDA counsels consumers to check their cookware for any of the products in the list and to dispose of it, even if a retailer has not contacted you. The agency also instructed against donating this cookware — this is one of the few cases where the landfill is the most appropriate solution.
